Meet the team
Hi I’m Jo. I live in Tetbury and am a community minded person. I took over the role of project manager for TAYCT in September 2017. I have several years of experience working with children, young people and families and have a real passion for supporting young people in Tetbury and setting up structures to enable that to happen.
I have 2 young children who both attend the local primary school and keep me fairly busy in between school and work. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being active - swimming, running and the gym, as well as enjoying singing, good food, good company and the odd board game.
What others say about Jo - She is always encouraging and really supports us to grow as professionals and as a team. She can always be relied upon for advice and a balanced, measured perspective to help us in providing as much as we can to the young people of Tetbury. She is a real asset to the community!
sessional youth worker and deputy safeguarding lead
Hi I’m Lisa. I live in Tetbury and am at The Pod for both of the evening sessions. I have been working with families & young people for many years in a variety of settings and specialise in engaging vulnerable young people with social, emotional & behavioural difficulties.
I have 2 young children and when I’m not at The Pod I can usually be found walking around Westonbirt, playing down at The Goods Shed & trying to keep fit.
What others say about Lisa - She always seems to have things under control. She has clear boundaries, a no messing attitude and is happy to have those ‘embarrassing conversations’ - whatever they may be. She sees and brings out the best in the young people she works with.
Sessional youth worker
I'm Hannah and have worked with young people in various different roles and in various different countries! I've been at the Pod for over 2 years now and I really value spending time with the group teaching them new things and learning even more from them and my incredible colleagues!
When I'm not working at the Pod I am studying medical herbalism which takes up most of my time while also working other jobs here and there. I enjoy an active lifestyle and have interest in health, organics and sustainable living.
What others say about Hannah - She is compassionate, caring and always willing to listen. She will make time to listen to you and makes you feel valued, whilst also being a bit of a hippi

Odd Job man
Hi I’m John. My wife Rosemary and I moved to Tetbury in March 1981, with three children under seven. Within months the whole family were absorbed into the wonderful community of Tetbury due to parents and teachers being so welcoming and friendly.
A few years later I was approached by Richard Hill the then Youth Leader. To this day I do not know what he added to the cup of tea he kindly offered me; but I woke the next morning to find I was the Club Treasurer. The effects of Richard’s potion did not wear off until 2014, when a new much younger Treasurer was appointed and I was promoted to Odd Job Man, a long held ambition!
Since July 2011 when the County Council withdrew youth funding, provision of a successful youth service has been provided by the Tetbury Area Youth and Community Trust (TAYCT) Charity. Operating out of the People’s Pod; A Portakabin on the Recreation ground until the end of 2018. Now our youngsters enjoy plusher accommodation in the end room of the Dolphins Hall.
I love DIY challenges and rejoice in having so many young best friends, but also being part of such an inspirational team providing some life enhancing experiences for our youngsters – the perfect job.
What others say about John - John is an asset to our team and is always willing to help us out, putting his hand to whatever we need. He is community minded and his generosity of time to support the youth work in Tetbury is a real asset to our organisation. Anyone who knows John will agree that he is someone who will do anything for anyone and do so cheerfully! The young people love him and we literally could not run without his on going practical support and for that we are most grateful!
Chair of Trustees
Hi, my name is Peter. We moved to Tetbury in 1997 with two children and then had our third once we lived here. All three children attended St Mary’s School and then some attended Sir William Romney and Marling. When the children were at school I was a foundation governor at St Mary’s school and also became a Scout leader due to both boys both enjoying that aspect of the community. I was a leader for 7 years, long after they left. I also set up with Tetbury Town Council the first youth council for a brief time, before work got in the way for me. I enjoy running with Tetbury Dolphin Running Club and enjoy helping behind the scenes with the TAYCT in the role as Chair, which is aimed at the community as a whole.
What others say about Pete - Pete is a running enthusiast and pretty good at it too! He is our go to health and safety man and is enthusiastic and passionate about the things he is involved with and loves being part of the community.
Steve Scott (Scotty)
Trustee - Treasurer
Hi I’m Scotty. I have lived in Tetbury for 11 years and have a lovely wife and 6 adult children. I have previously been involved in running youth work for many years and although less hands on now, I am still passionate that young people have opportunities and spaces to be themselves and receive the support they need. I am a software developer during the day and I run my own business which is based in Tetbury. If that doesn't keep me busy enough I love to dress up and go on stage, as well as running which helps with the fact that love spending time chatting and relaxing with family and friends eating good food.
What other people say about Scotty - He is a larger than life character and is great at throwing himself into the things he commits too. He is community minded and keen to engage and bring out the strengths of those he works with.
