Who we are

Tetbury Area Youth & Community Trust (TAYCT) is a grassroots charity based in Tetbury, working alongside local people to create spaces where individuals of all ages feel welcome, supported and able to connect. Originally established in 2006 as Friends of Tetbury Youth Club, TAYCT evolved in 2011 to sustain local youth provision following the withdrawal of county-level services. Today, we are the main provider of youth work in Tetbury, supporting over 100 young people each week through youth clubs, school-based mentoring, wellbeing projects and a year-round programme of holiday activities for children, young people and families.

In recent years, TAYCT has begun to broaden its scope in response to local need. We now also run the Friendship Café, a thriving weekly group supporting older people to build social connections, and are a delivery partner in the Age-Friendly Cotswolds initiative. This marks the beginning of a wider strategic focus on ageing well, intergenerational work and community-led development in a rural area where isolation, limited transport and access to services present real challenges.

TAYCT is values-led and shaped by local voices. We work in partnership with residents, volunteers, funders, statutory bodies and other community organisations to listen, learn and respond. Our priorities over the next phase include strengthening and sustaining our existing youth provision, developing our Age-Friendly work, building the capacity of our organisation, and exploring the creation of a dedicated community hub to support connection, participation and wellbeing across Tetbury and surrounding rural areas.
