Tetbury Area Youth and Community Trust (AKA TAYCT) runs the youth work in Tetbury known as The People’s Pod/The Pod. In addition to this we also provided 1-1 mentoring for young people. As part of the support side of what we do, we have begun to develop our mental health wellbeing support.

We are a small charity with a big vision and want to provide more for people in the Tetbury area, especially but not exclusively young people. We recognise that rural living can make young people feel isolated, especially as transport links are so poor and so want to give young people enjoyable activities to get involved with, as well as expanding our supportive role for children and young people in the town. Being a young person in todays society can be a real challenge. 10% of school children are experiencing mental health problems (3 in a class of 30), and 75% of those young people are not receiving treatment. This highlights some of the battles that young people are facing. Thresholds are getting higher but yet the need is getting greater. As a charity we are looking for supporters to help us continue and develop the universal youth work we run, whilst also expanding additional support for children, young people and their families.
